Aki Alamikkotervo

Pang (Turandot)

Aki Alamikkotervo studied at the Oulu Conservatory, the Finnish National Opera’s Opera Studio and in Italy with Paolo Silveri. In 1989 he won the third prize in the Timo Mustakallio Competition and in 1997 was Opera Soloist of the Year. He has been a member of the Finnish National Opera ensemble since 1999. During the 2008/09 season his roles there were Nick (La fanciulla del West), Shuysky (Boris Godunov), the Second Priest and the First Armed Man (The Magic Flute), Kaappo (The Ostrobothnians) and the Hunchback (Die Frau ohne Schatten). He first sang at the Savonlinna Opera Festival in 1997.
