Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly)

Tiina-Maija Koskela obtained a Master’s degree in opera from the Sibelius Academy in spring 2008, in which year she won the women’s prize in the Lappeenranta Singing Competition. Two years earlier she had been awarded the second prize in the Timo Mustakallio Competition. She made her debut at the Finnish National Opera as a Bridesmaid in Der Freischütz in autumn 2008. Next season she is down to sing Mercedes in Carmen at the Finnish National Opera and will be the soloist in a concert by the Kioi Sinfonietta in Japan.
