Stage designer (Madama Butterfly)

 
The first stage design by architect Dean Shibuya was Ladies of the Canyon: The Music of Joni Mitchell for the American Conservatory in San Francisco. He has also designed for, among others, the Young Conservatory productions of Mullen’s Alley, Charley’s Aunt and Broken Hallelujah. For the San Francisco Conservatory he has stage designed L’Egisto and Orpheus in the Underworld, and he is also now doing Madama Butterfly for Bangkok Opera. Dean Shibuya has also received numerous commissions for concert stage designs and he still does architectural assignments in San Francisco and Honolulu.
