Marian Talaba

F.B Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly)

Ukrainian tenor Marian Talaba studied at the Ukrainian National Music Academy and for five years at the Ukraine National Opera in Kiev. In 2002 he won the first prize in the 2nd Lysenko International Music Competition. He began his international career singing Calaf at the Malmö Opera in 2004, the year in which he was one of the prize winners in the Manushko International Competition in Poland. This led to an invitation to perform at the Vienna State Opera. In autumn 2008 he sang Calaf in Brisbane. Future engagements include Cavaradossi in Tosca and Gabriele in Simon Boccanegra.
