Jubilee spring events

In honour of its 100th anniversary, the Savonlinna Opera Festival is getting out and about this spring with
events in Helsinki, Kuopio and St. Petersburg. The jubilee year will be visible and audible at opera talks,
opera concerts, the Matka Nordic Travel Fair and anniversary lectures. The opera talks will be held at the
Kalhama&Piippo Gallery in Helsinki. The first of these, providing an insight into one of the season’s two
premieres – Kimmo Hakola’s La Fenice – is on Tuesday, January 17 already. Read more (in Finnish)

The Opera Festival is also holding four lectures examining the Festival’s colourful history from different
perspectives. The speakers are well-known experts on their subject and the lectures will be held at the
Kämp Hotel in Helsinki. Read more (in Finnish)

All the events above are held only in Finnish.

All the tickets for the opera concert at the Helsinki Music Centre are sold out. But this concert
will also delight opera-lovers in Kuopio and St. Petersburg.


Fantastic fair offer!

To mark its first centenary, the Opera Festival is featuring on the Show stage, in the Savonlinna Opera
Festival Plaza at the Matka Nordic Travel Fair on January 19-23. This being a jubilee year, there will also
be a fantastic fair offer at the Opera Festival’s stand, 7f41. Tickets for the guest performances by the
Norwegian National Opera will be sold at the fair for half the normal price. Read more (in Finnish)
